Slightly outdated-- I figured out how to draw them more adorable with rounder eyes after a few tries in the comic.

They can be pretty much any color.

The final Roko Balloon reference, from 2021. I saturated his color a bit more in balloon form.

Unused Roko Balloon design with three tails from 2021. It makes sense that he would have gone with three tails, but I just couldn't make it look right, and good trees I'm going to have to draw him thousands of times. That's way more surface area to snag and pop, anyway.

Finalized group shot of the cast, from 2021 before starting on the comic proper. I had all their designs down by this point, and I used this group shot to determine their color pallets. I wanted them to all look good together. The only minor change is I simplified the eyes a bit for the comic itself.

Getting used to drawing quetz, from 2021. I didn't change her design so much as her proportions and colors.

All the attempt #1 characters (well #2 for Saida), from 2021! These three are on screen together a lot, and I didn't like the way their colors meshed, hence the color revisions. Also ended up with some significant size changes.

Earliest concept art of Roko from 2021. He came a lot easier since I'm used to foxes. I had this weird idea that everyone's going to have different colored eyes, but ended up dropping it.

Saida concepts from 2021 before I started drawing Rain Burn. I really wanted to make her purple but couldn't figure the colors out.

Wasn't quite happy with the first version. You can see him slowly morph into his final design in stages here.
